The Outer Other..

We’re told to be different. To break boxes. To stand out.
But what happens when you actually do?
Be different. Don’t walk the beaten path. We see that call to arms everywhere — on social media, on billboards, in every #breakthebox slogan. But is that really the change we need? Or is it just superficial and light, never landing the way it should?
“Dress different,” they say. Neon is in… pastel is out. But can you think different? Can you rebel — truly rebel — against the norms we’ve been taught to just follow? Would you want to follow Pied piper or stay put?
Would you dare?
The labels will come quickly. The sniggers dressed as concern. The silent withdrawal. The ghosting — the fading out — for simply daring to live and breathe on your own terms.
Be it wearing your emotions or not at all, Being too free-spirited. Too unapologetic. Too opinionated. Too old. Too assertive. Too alive. Not dead yet… just breathing. Or simply choosing to step into who you really are.
Judgment hurts us all. We are all created equal that way. It clips wings. Breaks spirits. Chases the dreamers into shadows, always seeking comfort in the dark.
Sometimes I wonder — is it just easier to follow the millions who’ve done it before? To stay quiet, shrink, and call it peace?
Woe betide the brain that thinks too much, And the heart that feels too deeply.
The price of peace is conformity. Be part of the matrix and be left alone But for the outlier, the outer other . . .
Life becomes worthier!
I write about what makes me smile… and what makes me toil.
It’s a peek into my world — the chaos, the small wins, the big emotions… and the family that fuels it all.
I am just rolling, flowing, roiling… through everyday life.
If this made you smile or chuckle, come back on Tuesdays and Thursdays for more stories to sip with your chai latte… or coffee. Molecularly yours,
